SNI Certificate for Infant Apparel
Indonesia – New Requirement for Azo Dyes, Formaldehyde and Extractable Heavy Metals Content in Infant Apparel
On 17th May 2014, the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia issued decree No.07/M-IND/PER/2/2014 regarding new regulation for Infant Apparel. The decree requires product compliance with the SNI 7617:2013 Requirement for Azo Dyes, Formaldehyde and Extractable Heavy Metals content in fabric for Infant Apparel.
SNI 7617:2013 is implemented on fabrics for babies and children’s clothing up to the age of 36 months that have direct contact with the skin, made from woven and/or knitted fabric from various kind of fibers and/or blended fibers.
SPPT-SNI Product Certification Process Flowchart
- Manufacturers/Importers/Producers shall apply for the SPPT-SNI (Product Certification for the Compliance of Indonesian National Standard) from LSPro (Product Certification Body) through a Certification System No.1B
